Welcome to the Charlotte, North Carolina, Chapter of Project Linus!
|
 |
We brighten children's lives in the greater
Charlotte area by giving handmade blankets to children. Our members are knitters, crocheters, quilters,
and home-sewers of all ages, from school children to great-grandmothers. Some of us make blankets at home in our free time,
some at school or at church, and some at our monthly meetings.
We meet on the second
Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. Currently, we meet at the Candlewyck Baptist
Church, 7200 Providence Road, Charlotte. The church is located about 1/3 mile north of Pineville-Matthews Road (Rt. 51) on
the west side of the street. We meet in the Fellowship Hall; there is ample parking in the south parking lot.
Welcome
to our new Chapter Coordinator: Mary C. Mary has
been a member of Project Linus for several years. She is an avid quilter and believer in the power of volunteering to change
lives for the better. When not sewing, she can be found teaching kindergarten, enjoying her grandchildren, and volunteering
at her church. Please say hello the her, and thank her for her efforts on behalf of Project Linus.

Mission Statement
As part of a national not-for-profit organization, Project Linus's primary
mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise
in need. We do this through the gift of new, handmade blankets and afgans, lovingly created by our volunteer "blanketeers."
We are a 100% volunteer organization, and we hope that our volunteers have a fun and rewarding experience with Project
Linus.

Who Gets our Blankets? We deliver the blankets to organizations serving children & teens in the greater Charlotte
Metro area. Hospital pediatric and premie wards are our primary focus, but also deliver blankets to local social service agencies,
police & fire departments, foster children, and others. Click
on the LINKS button on the left side of this page to see a list of agencies served.
