How Blankets Get to Children in Need
It
all starts with a volunteer: A volunteer makes a blanket, whether knitted, crocheted, sewn, or made from fleece. The blanket is dropped off at one of our many drop-off sites in Charlotte. Another volunteer picks up blankets from
the drop-off sites. At our monthly meeting, we sew offical 'Project Linus' labels on each blanket. A volunteer
takes the completed blankets to a local hospital or other agency serving children. The hospital staff give a blanket
to each child, from birth to age 18. The child gets to take the blanket home to keep!

Monthly Meetings
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm until 9:00pm at the
Candlewyck Baptist Church, 7200 Providence Road, Charlotte. Our meetings for the rest of 2008 are:
May 13 June
10 July 8 August 12 September 9 October 14 December 9 (We will not meet on Nov. 11, since this
is Election Day.)
What Do We Do At Meetings? Our meetings
are informal, with lots of talking and laughing. Some people knit and crochet blankets, lots of people sew our Project Linus
labels onto finished blankets, some people bring sewing machines to use. We look at the blankets that have been finished,
decide what needs to be done next, and generally have fun!
